Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (ギルティギア イグゼクス アクセントコア, Giruti Gia Iguzekusu Akusento Koa) is a update to the Guilty Gear XX series featuring new, more anime-inspired art, new stages (with some taken from Isuka) and new moves and balancing for all characters. All characters also had re-recorded voices and there is also a new announcer. The game saw console releases on the Playstation 2, Portable and Wii through 2007.

GameplayEdit

Λ Core features a new type of special move, the "Force Break," which consumes 25% of the Tension bar when used, making it reminiscent of an EX Special Move. Most characters have gained new special moves ever since Slash, and some have had existing specials (or powered-up versions of existing specials) converted into Force Break attacks. New "hit effects" involve a ground slide in which characters can slide along the ground from a hit, or a wall-slam/wallstick, in that characters get stuck to the wall for a brief moment as opposed to bouncing off of it. Other new additions also include the "Slashback," a form of parrying with reduced blockstun and negating damage, and throw breaks.

In addition to its gameplay changes, Λ Core features the first major aesthetic change for the series since the original release of Guilty Gear XX. All voices, including that of the announcer, have been re-recorded (or replaced with previously unused samples), and some characters are voiced by new voice actors. The playable characters' artworks were also redone, and two new music tracks, Launch Out and Keep The Flag Flying, were added. Another change was that most of the blood in the game was removed due to censorship. However some characters like Testament and A.B.A. still have blood in some of their attacks. Since this revision has been made to balance the game, two characters deemed illegal by tournament standards, Justice and Kliff, were removed from the game's playable roster.

Both versions of the game feature three gameplay modes per character, based on the Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, and Λ Core fighting systems.

The original Japanese version has many bugs that were fixed in the American PS2 release and future versions.
