China is a region and recurring battle stage in the Guilty Gear series. Comprised of territories belonging to the People's Federation of China (presumably equivalent in size to that of China in the real world), it is the birthplace of Jam Kuradoberi and Dr. Baldhead.

Somewhere in the western part of the federation is the Uighur region.[1] It is unknown whether it is part of this region, or if it is adjacent to it.

Design[]

China debuts as a stage in Guilty Gear X. The battle takes place in front of a large dam or drainage, with dirty walls cluttered with food shacks. A large, possibly residential building can be seen on the leftmost side, with lit windows. The most noticeable feature of the stage is the large dragon carcass, integrated into the setting. A food stand can be seen below it. Guilty Gear XX features this same stage during the day, while Slash features it at night.

Guilty Gear Isuka features a new China stage set at its rooftops, featuring much more East Asian architecture. A large sculpture in the shape of a fish in a plate can be seem to the left, and a building to the right features an eastern dragon adorning it. Many different buildings lie beside the sea, stretching into a sunset horizon. Guilty Gear XX Λ Core features this same stage again, albeit with a slightly less saturated palette.

Trivia[]

  • Guilty Gear X Drafting Artworks reveals the name of Jam's restaurant is Shen Long Shao (生龍焼) which means "Raw/Fresh Dragon Roast". As the name implies, the body of the dragon in the background is a subdued still-living dragon, used as a free source of meat produce for Shen Long Shao; because of the dragon's magical nature, it is immortal, able to revive and regenerate itself given time even after dying.
